Over the past two weeks, our engineering team has been focused on making the platform faster and more resilient under the hood. It’s the kind of work you feel as “things just work better,” even if you never see it directly. Here’s what shipped, plus a look at what’s coming next.
Charlie Can Now Search the Web
Charlie, your AI assistant inside CloudContactAI, can now pull in live information from the web when a question calls for it: things like current compliance requirements or industry best practices, instead of relying only on what it already knows. Ask Charlie a question that needs up-to-date context, and it’ll go find the answer for you.
Faster, More Reliable Campaign Sends
If you run large SMS or email campaigns, you’ve probably noticed sends can slow down when a lot of messages are going out at once. We tracked this down to how campaign records were being updated during a send: every message was triggering a full rewrite of the campaign record, which created contention as volume scaled up.
We rebuilt this to update only the specific fields that change during a send, cutting out unnecessary lock contention on the campaigns table. The result: campaigns move through “sending” faster and more predictably, especially for high-volume sends.
More Robust CSV Reports
Contact lists aren’t always perfectly clean; missing phone numbers or email addresses happen. Previously, gaps like these could cause report generation to fail. We fixed the report generator to handle missing contact fields gracefully, so your CSV exports complete successfully even when your data isn’t 100% complete.
Smarter Contact File Imports
We shipped groundwork for improved file imports and contact merging: new handling for streaming file requests and smarter merge logic when contact records overlap. This lays the foundation for cleaner, faster imports of larger contact lists, with fewer duplicate or conflicting records to clean up afterward.
Behind the Scenes: Reliability Investments
We also added deeper diagnostic logging around campaign and message processing, and tuned database connection pooling on our messaging services. None of this changes what you see in the product; it means our team can spot and resolve issues faster, before they affect your campaigns.
Coming Soon: Fully Managed Email
We’re currently building out fully managed email sending: built-in domain and DKIM setup, automatic suppression list management, and simple pause/resume controls, all without needing to configure your own sending infrastructure. It’s still in active development, so stay tuned for more details as it gets closer to release.
